We have all heard about flimsy straps leading to disasters with the Wiimote, and we have been told that Nintendo was investigating the matter.
Meanwhile, it appears that this situation has already been quietly resolved. Check out the straps above. As you can see the one on the left is noticeably thicker. One could only hope that thicker means stronger, but they still look a little flimsy if you ask me.
It should be noted that controllers with the thinner straps are still included with the Wii consoles. At this point, the upgrade seems to be available on Wii-motes that are sold separately.
